Australian Swamp Stonecrop / New Zealand Pigmyweed
Crassula helmsii
Australian Swamp Stonecrop/New Zealand Pigmyweed (Crassula Helmsii) grows around damp pond banks, depleting oxygen levels. Dominates native species, forming dense carpets and choking ponds and ditches. Reduced light beneath the surface kills natural weed and depletes oxygen levels.
Control
Repeated mechanical removal in late summer can help reduce the growth of this prolific weed. All plant material should be destroyed, not composted.
